من این را برای بار دوم خواندم و حتی بیشتر از این که چگونه آقای رایت مجذوب GRAND GRID خودش شد تا دوباره پل را تفسیر کند، متعجب شدم. اگرچه نویسنده مطمئناً به دیدگاه تازه، بدیع و تجدیدنظرطلبانه اعتراض‌زدایی‌کننده اعتراض‌گرایانه خود متقاعد شده است، اما از قانع‌کننده بودن فاصله زیادی دارد. به دنبال Bereans، هر بار که کتابی مانند این را می‌خوانم که به من می‌گوید چگونه معنای واقعی کتاب مقدس را بفهمم، بلافاصله کتاب مقدس را بیرون می‌آورم و کل بخش را قبل و بعد از آنچه نویسنده تفسیر می‌کند، می‌خوانم. در این مورد، کلمات ساده پل (به یونانی و انگلیسی) چیزی را می‌گویند که کاملاً با آنچه آقای رایت می‌خواهد خواننده فکر کند او می‌گوید مغایرت دارد. من به دیدگاه شخصی پل همانطور که در متن خود او آمده است می مانم. در حالی که بسیاری از نوشته‌های آقای رایت قابل خواندن است، اما به وضوح بازتاب گذشته‌نگر خود او بر اساس تحصیلات مدرنیستی او در قرن بیستم، جریان فکری آنگلیکن و سوگیری GRAND GRID است. او به چرخش و شیب خود خوش آمدید، اما خدا را شکر هر خواننده ای آزاد است که پولس را با شیب متنی درونی خود در ارجاعات عهد جدید، اعمال رسولان و عهد عتیق بپذیرد.

I read this for the second time and was taken even more at how Mr. Wright is captivated by his own GRAND GRID to re-interpret Paul. Though the author is surely convinced of his fresh, novel, revisionist deprotestantizing protestantism view, he is far from convincing. Following Bereans, every time I read a book like this telling me how to understand the Bible's REAL MEANING, I immediately get the Scripture out and read the entire section before and after what the author exegetes. In this case, Paul's plain words (in Greek and English) say something quite at variance with what Mr. Wright wants the reader to think he says. I'll stick with Paul's Personal Perspective as found in his own text. While much of Mr. Wright's writing is readable, it is clearly his own retrospective reflection based on his modernist 20th Century education, Anglican stream of thought and GRAND GRID bias. He's welcome to his spin and slant, but thank God so is each reader free to take Paul at his own internal textual slant in the New Testament, Acts and Old Testament referencing.
