The genetic aspects discussed include DNA-polymorphisms in the diagnosis of familiar hypercholesterinemia, the LDL receptor, the characterisation of the scavenger receptor of the human liver, the expression of Apo AI, AII and CII genes in pro- and eukaryotic cells, and the disruption of purine enzymes.
