This book explores cultural and creative processes as they occur in a heritage setting, and how they can be applied to business projects. More specifically, the chapters take a detailed look at the importance of culture in entrepreneurial pursuits regarding heritage matters. This involves focusing on how culture is embedded within heritage entrepreneurship and the distinctive comparative advantages of taking a cultural approach to business. The role of entrepreneurial environments in terms of accepting creativity is highlighted, thereby making a new contribution to the study of heritage entrepreneurship. The book also elaborates on how heritage entrepreneurs are embedded in an entrepreneurial ecosystem that consists of a number of different stakeholders.
In doing so, the book provides an interdisciplinary perspective about the ways culture, creativity and heritage combine in order to produce novel entrepreneurial contributions. It speaks to researchers, practitioners and policy makers interested in heritage entrepreneurship, enabling them to gain ideas for their work, and to move the field forward with a better understanding of heritage entrepreneurship.Acknowledgements Contents List of Contributors List of Figures List of Tables Towards a Theory of Heritage Entrepreneurship Introduction Historical Context of Heritage The Notion of Heritage Heritage Entrepreneurial Ecosystems Cultural Tourism, Heritage and Entrepreneurship World Heritage Sites Heritage Entrepreneurship Overview of Chapters Conclusion References Government Initiatives and Social Entrepreneurship in Thailand: Exploring the Role of Pracharath Rak Samakee Social Enterprise Scheme (ประชารัฐรักสามัคคี) and the Way Forward Introduction Heritage Connection The Landscape of Social Entrepreneurship in Thailand Making Sense of the Pracharath Rak Samakee Social Enterprise Business Model Managing and Measuring Impact as Tension Management Conclusion References Social-Driven Innovation in Tourism: A Perspective on Soft Attributes of an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Introduction The Local Context as Entrepreneurial Ecosystem The Trust Attribute of a Local Context The Support Attribute of a Local Context Discussion and Conclusions References Strategies for Innovation Among Indonesian Family Firms Introduction Literature Review Knowledge-Based Theory of the Firm Innovation and Knowledge Transfer Within Family Firm Research Methods Findings Discussion Conclusion, Limitation, and Future Research References Shedding Light on the Main Implications Between Informal Entrepreneurship, Heritage Entrepreneurship, and Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Based on Bibliometric and Content Analyses Introduction Exploring the Relationships Between Informal Entrepreneurship and Heritage Entrepreneurship in the Literature Exploring the Relationship Between Informal Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in the Literature An Overview of the Most Relevant Studies in the Research Field Data and Methodology Descriptive Analysis and Results Growth of Publications Most Productive Sources Most Cited Documents Most Productive Countries Author Impact Three Plots Field and Trend Topics Cluster Analysis of Publications Abstracts’ World Cloud and Tree Map Analysis Authors and Documents Clustering by Coupling Conceptual Structure The Conceptual Structure Map of Major Themes Using MCA Analysis of Keyword Co-Occurrence Intellectual Structure Based on Co-Citation Analysis Co-Citation Analysis on Authors Co-Citation on Papers Co-Citation on Journals Social Structure Through Collaboration Network Analysis of Authors and Institutions and Countries A Content Analysis of Heritage and Informal Entrepreneurship Research Publications Conclusions References The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Tourism in Alpine Areas of Switzerland Introduction Overview of Impact Levels of the Pandemic Market Shift Within in the Lodging Sector Blurring Boundaries Between Work and Leisure The Service Innovation Gap in Touristic SMEs The Role of Enablers to Manage Change Multi-Locality with Service Convenience References World Heritage Sites in Italy Introduction World Heritage Sites in Italy Conclusion References World Heritage Sites in the United States Introduction World Heritage Sites in the United States Conclusion References Heritage Entrepreneurship: Future Trends Introduction Model of Heritage Entrepreneurship Current State of Heritage Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Research Developing a New Theory on Heritage Entrepreneurship Discussion Future Research Suggestions Summary of Future Research Tracks Conclusion References Index
