Forty Hadith is the mystical and ethical explanation of forty selected hadithes by Imam Khomeini (ra). This great masterpiece of Islamic mysticism and ethics is yet another wonder of Imam Khomeini (ra). Written in a relatively easier language and practical style, Forty Hadith explains self-discipline, self-purification, self-reconstruction, diseases of soul such a Riya (Ostentation, Ujb (Self-admiration), Hasad (Jealousy), Nifaq (Hypocrisy), Takabbur (Pride), Hubbe Dunya (Love of World) etc., and merits of soul such as Ikhlas (Sincerity), Tawba (Repentance), Tafakkur (Contemplation), Shukr (Thanking God), Tawakkul (Trusting God) etc. In addition, it also deals with fitrat (Human nature), hikmat (Wisdom) and (Ilm) knowledge and its various apsects and duties of knowledgable. Additionally, it explains various topics related to higher stages to wayfaring in the mystical journey and nearness to God such Hardships, Aversion of Death, Remembering God, Meeting God, Annihilation in God, Attributes of God, Knowledge of God, Reality of Creation, Kinds of Hearts, Reality of Faith and station of Faithful, Divine Guardianship and Good and Evil. This book was written by Imam Khomeini (ra) when he was 36 years of age and shows that he was himself a wayfarer in journey towards God right from the beginning of his life as a religious scholar. The fruits of his journey culminated in the successful Islamic Revolution in 1979 and its success until now that has obviously opened a new chapter of Divine Islamic Politics in which politics and ethics were not separate from each other.
